Coming from the Russiz Superiore estate in Capriva del Friuli, this wine is one of the most representative of the fine Felluga family estate. Grapes come from a hilly area, typical for Collio, with soils defined as 'ponca', in Friulian dialect, or flysch. This is a mineral-rich soil, ideal for growing white grapes. Here, moreover, a beneficial temperature range between day and night gives the wines flavour and minerality. Friulano, the protagonist of this label, is one of the oldest indigenous varieties in Friuli Venezia Giulia, whose presence is attested here since the 11th century. Cold maceration is carried out in the cellar, followed by fermentation in steel tanks, with 15% of the fermented mass in oak barrels. At the end of processing, part of the wine, approximately 85%, matures in steel. The remaining 15%, on the other hand, continues in wood. In the glass, it has a beautiful straw-yellow colour with greenish reflections. The bouquet is intense, characterised by wild flowers and almond blossom, with notes of hawthorn and chamomile. In the mouth, however, it surprises with its enveloping, intense and structured taste. A refined white, it is characterised by a perfect balance between structure and acidity. A wine to be uncorked throughout a meal, it goes well with both savoury fish dishes and delicate meat dishes. Very enjoyable also with a tasty savoury pie.
