Scharfegg is a pure Lagrein from Pitzner Winery. A decidedly territorial wine, with a pleasantly fruity character. It's the right wine if you plan to bring savoury red meat dishes to the table. It is perfect, for example, with game but also with medium-aged malga cheeses. In the glass it has a beautiful deep ruby red colour with violet hues. On the nose, the nuances of wild berries are intense, well integrated with those of violets. This is all well supported by a subtle, and well-integrated, scent of leather and refreshing eucalyptus. In the mouth it is decidedly velvety, with soft tannins that caress the palate. Slight notes of toast and sweet spices accompany the sip. A great red wine with character, elegant and persistent.
