Let's start with the historical soldier's label. Designed by Renato Ratti, it recalls the exploits of 18th century Piedmontese regiments. As for the wine, this Langhe DOC Ochetti, 100% Nebbiolo, its main characteristics are undoubtedly class and spontaneous vivacity. An ancient wine, it comes from vineyards in the Roero area, where the plants take root in sandy soils, on the left bank of the Tanaro river, and - in part - from some estate vineyards in the Langhe hills. A great expression of Nebbiolo that comes from the careful processing of grapes harvested by hand in October. In the cellar, the grapes are destemmed and crushed, and then the alcoholic fermentation phase begins in thermo-controlled steel tanks. The delicate contact with the skins lasts about ten days and malolactic fermentation takes place in steel. Not very intense ruby red in colour, the aroma is fine, delicate and persistent, with hints of wild strawberries and raspberries. In the mouth it is pleasantly bitterish, velvety, light and full at the same time. Perfect with spit-roasted and grilled red meats, game, fondue with truffles, agnolotti, white and red meat dishes from the great cuisine with spicy sauces.
