From the hills of Romagna, kissed by the sun and caressed by the wind, comes Colli di Faenza DOC Rosso Riserva Montecorallo, a red wine produced by Trerè Azienda Agricola. Son of an excellent terroir, characterised by clay-limestone soils and a temperate climate with marine influences that give freshness and flavour to the grapes, the vineyards are 90 metres above sea level and enjoy a privileged position that favours optimal ripening of the grapes. Montecorallo is the fruit of a skilful blend of Cabernet Sauvignon (60%), Merlot (30%) and Sangiovese (10%). Processing begins with hand-harvesting, which takes place in the first ten days of October. The grapes are carefully selected and subjected to a soft crushing and then undergo alcoholic fermentation in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks. Maceration on the skins can last up to 30 days. After racking, the wine matures in barriques and oak barrels for about 12 months, acquiring complexity and harmony. Finally, before being released for sale, Montecorallo rests in the bottle for a further 6 months. Dark and compact ruby colour, the nose reveals a rich and complex bouquet. Notes of jammy fruit, cherry and plum, accompanied by touches of dried tomato peel, herbs, bay leaf and sage. In the mouth, it reveals great structure, warm and compact, with smooth, ripe tannins. Montecorallo is a perfect wine for special occasions. The ideal companion for a Sunday lunch with the family or a dinner with friends to discover the authentic flavours of Romagna.
