Freisa del Monferrato DOC. What Accornero presents here is a little gem for enthusiasts. Practically unknown outside Piedmont, Freisa is a very pleasant wine in its simplicity. Light, fragrant and elegant, it has an incredible drinkability, so much so that it is considered the classic everyday bottle. Accornero makes it from grapes harvested in small plots of less than half a hectare, and the first harvest dates back to 1986. Brilliant garnet red, this pleasant Piedmont red has intense aromas reminiscent of freshly made wine, with a delicate spiciness of cinnamon and nutmeg. In the mouth it is dry and immediate. Slightly tannic and well balanced. It goes well with first courses with meat sauces, but also with cold cuts and classic boiled meats. For lovers of tradition, however, this is the perfect wine to accompany a mouth-watering dish of vitello tonnato.
